What makes a song a "bike" song? The answer is, of course, no *one* thing, and let's face it, everyone will agree and disagree with anything on this list. That said, for me, the reasons include (1) singing about being on a cycle, like Motorcycle Mama, (2) singing about being on the road, like Blue Highway, (3) singing about freedom, like Free Bird, (4) singing about letting loose, like Hot Blooded, (5) singing about being "bad", like Breaking the Law. Maybe there are some other things... when this goes database, maybe they'll come out as others chime in...

Motorcycling has been influencing music for some time. The birth of rock and roll coincided with the birth of the outlaw image of motorcycling and the two have been cousins ever since. Riding a motorcycle is almost a prerequisite for rocker street credibility. There have been some real highs and lows in motorcycle themed music. And so, here are what in my opinion are the four best and four worst motorcycling songs...

HEY. This is the first CD to be totaly dedicated to BIKERS. This is Motorcycle Biker Southern Rock. Some of the sounds here may remind you of: Ted Nugent, Jimmy Buffett, Stevie Ray Vaugn, Aerosmith, Bob Dylan, Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Shynyrd, ZZ Top...
Songs from my own playlist
Some of these choices are obvious, some aren't... but all these songs somehow capture the spirit of biking for me and really add to the ride... I added a link to preview a little snippet in iTunes if it's available there... enjoy!
